The Scoop on Paris Hilton's New Fragrance

Not just content with a clothing line and three fragrances under her belt, the heiress one-upped herself with a fourth original scent. PEOPLE magazine caught up with Paris Hilton at Kitson boutique for the L.A. launch party where she revealed the inspiration for Can-Can. “I’ve always loved Moulin Rouge. I love that whole theme and the Can-Can dance is part of that. I thought it would be fun doing the campaign, the photo-shoot and everything in that style”. So what does the Can-Can smell like? “It’s a little more sophisticated. Still young and fun and flirty in the same way, but this one is more mature.” Look out for Paris’s shoe line coming out next month. The striving business woman tells PEOPLE magazine, “They’re really cool and totally my signature style. The bottom of the whole shoe is pink and has my name on it! They’re really comfortable shoes that you can wear anywhere”. Is anyone planning to buy her perfume?

Denzel & Russell: Happy To Be American Gangsters

One of the last movies I can't wait to see this year, American Gangster, premiered in Hollywood on Sunday night. The film's illustrious stars Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington, along with Mel Gibson and producer Brian Grazer were all out to celebrate the epic in their finest suits. Both Russell and Denzel are no stranger to the Oscar nominations, so it will be interesting to see if these two can live up to their names and reputation together on screen. Can't wait for the movie to screen in the U.K!! XD

Fashion Face-Off - Mandy VS. Halle

I can’t say enough how amazing Halle Berry looks pregnant — although I imagine we’ve got a few more oohs and ahs to go before she’s due. So, it’s no surprise that the hot momma-to-be is still wearing non-maternity wear, but only Halle could pull off a legendary Dolce & Gabbana corset dress in her second trimester! But we’ve seen this particular slinky number before, on the decidedly sveltve figure of Mandy Moore. While it’s not exactly fair to compare those who are and are not expecting a child, we still get a giggle out of seeing the two stars in the same dress. Who wears her Dolce & Gabbana dress better? Hola, amigas. There's some exciting news from Jennifer Lopez. She's just announced that she's expecting... to launch her next fragrance, Deseo, in February 2008. Unlike her earlier scents, Deseo directly honours Lopez's Latina heritage, which I think is cool. In a recent interview, she said:

On building on her Latina roots
"I have a lot of synergy happening in my life right now that is taking me back to my roots and to everything that I'm about and how I was raised. This is what I really find my heart is into. It's the first time I have decided to use a Spanish word for one of our fragrances. We really look at where I am at in my life and what is important to me at that time. But the one thing that we have always concentrated on from the beginning is to be as truthful as we can."

On how the celebrity fragrance biz has changed
"The celebrity fragrance category is huge now and it's very competitive — it has changed a lot [since my entry into it]. I really had no clue what to expect when I created my first fragrance, but like every other artistic endeavor I do, I just listened to my gut and made sure that I expressed myself completely. I was lucky that I found the right partner that encouraged my creativity and really brought my vision to life."

On creating Deseo
"The idea for the scent usually comes first. I always call up and say, I love this or I love that — get this candle or this flower that was in my garden. With Deseo, the inspiration came from a combination of smells in my own garden. So, I called up my friends and asked them to come take a walk through my garden with me so they could experience it. It was late at night so there was kind of a dew in the air and I took them to an area where there are these beautiful geranium flowers, orange trees, lemon trees, and all this stuff mixing together that was making this beautiful smell."

It doesn't surprise me that Jennifer is so involved in finding the right scents, since she seems particular about what she'll wear. The fragrance will be out in February, right in time for Valentine's Day. But fans who have attended her tour with hubby Marc Anthony have already received a sneak sniff - because samples have been handed out at each stop. Barbados R&B singer Rihanna gave a concert on September 24th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada and "MSN Music" was there to tape the show. They finally aired it yesterday (October 25th) and just click on the link above to go to MSN's web to check out the full concert. I just finished watching it and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't the best concert I've seen but Rihanna did a good job, I can see she has improved so much on her stage presence. I would love to go to one of her concerts in December (UK). Enjoy... XD

Roberto Cavalli @ H&M Collection Revealed!!

It's been a busy week for Roberto Cavalli! The Fab ad campaign for his collaboration with H&M appeared earlier this week and now the lookbook for the entire collection has surfaced. As expected, leopard spots, zebra prints and sequins are all over, and the colour palette stays in the black, white and gold range. The standout dress looks to be the gold flapper number (above), which Cavalli designed with Kylie Minogue in mind. He is officially launching the collection at the H&M in Rome today, and will be going to Manhattan for the US launch next Tuesday. I'm sure it will be available soon in the UK. Up next on Mr. Cavalli's plate? He's putting together the costumes that he designed for the Spice Girls reunion tour set to kick off at the Victoria's Secret fashion show in LA on 15th November.
