It's a shocking statstic but the U.K is one of the few places in the world where the number of people contracting HIV and AIDS is still rising. So, come February H&M and Katherine Hamnett along with some of their very special friends will launch a collection designed to raise awareness and money for AIDS projects around the world. Stars who have collaborated with H&M on the line of 100% organic cotton t-shirts, tank tops and hoodies include the Scissor Sisters, Timbaland, Rihanna, Rufus Wainwright, Good Charlotte, Ziggy Marley, Chicks on Speed, Henrik Vibskov, The Cardigans, Jade Jagger and The Chemical Brothers. "Supporting YouthAIDS through the Fashion Against AIDS campaign was a great way to encourage my fans to join me in the fight against HIV/AIDS. I love that H&M is providing a fashionable and easy way for young people all over the world to get involved in this worthy cause", says Rihanna.
"It’s a collection that’s rich in colour, with considerable commitment going into every garment. The artists have created personal prints with a strong sense of style", says H&M’s head of design Margareta van den Bosch of the collection. And with prices starting at just £7.99, everyone will have a chance to bag a celebrity designer pieces and help a very worthwhile cause. Just the kind of shopping I like!
